Terrazzo Bag

The Terrazzo Bag is knitted from the bottom up. The base is flat and knitted on double-pointed needles, while the sides of the bag are knitted in the round on circular needles. At the top, the bag is divided into two sections, and handles are knitted that are wide at the bottom and taper towards the top. Each handle ends in a loop knitted in double knitting, through which the leather strap is attached. Herringbone tape is inserted into the cavity formed by the double knitting to provide stability, and a lining is fitted into the finished bag. Finally, leather straps are attached.

Gauge: 16 stitches x 24 rows in stockinette stitch on 5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm

Needles: Two 5 mm circular needles (60 or 80 cm), 5 mm double-pointed needles

Materials: Option 1: 200 (300) g Aran Tweed from Isager Yarn (100 g = 160 m) optionally together with 50 (50) Make It Tweed from Rico Design (50 g = 475 m)

Option 2: 250 (350) g Hør Organic from Isager Yarn (50 g = 178 m) (knitted with three strands) 

Option 3: 200 (300) g Tweed Recycled from Sandnes Garn (50 g = 175 m) (knitted with two strands) 

Cotton fabric for lining: 95 x 26 (111 x 30) cm, vegetable-tanned leather strap: 2.5 x 45 cm, approx. 110 (120) cm herringbone tape (2 cm wide) to insert into the handle
