It all started in the winter of 2012 when Jeanette thought, “there really isn’t a proper yarn shop with a wide selection – we’ll probably have to start one…”. Anders, who is more than a little entrepreneurial, said, “yes, let’s do it!”. And so it was done, but more on that below.
Sofia is the daughter in the family with a passionate interest in handicrafts, particularly knitting. She is a trained handicrafts teacher in Waldorf education and has been working part-time since last autumn.
Lisa jumps in and helps us sometimes when things get hectic or we cannot work ourselves for some reason. Or she does it because she thinks it’s so much fun!
So - on April 21, 2012, Butik Maglia opened in central Höör! Pretty soon we felt that the shop was becoming too small, and so we moved in the spring of 2013 to Föreningsgatgan 3!
In the shop you will find yarns that you won’t find in your “regular” yarn shop; wonderful yarns from Geilsk, Lana Grossa, Sandnes, Manos del Uruguay, Järbo and Istex/Lopi. We probably, we dare say, have Sweden’s largest selection of knitting needles, crochet hooks and other accessories in stock.
We always keep nature and the environment in focus when we select products for the shop. It should be yarns that are fairly produced at every stage! We only offer yarns in natural materials such as wool, linen, hemp, cotton, silk, cashmere, viscose, camel and yak wool!
