The Stockholm Sweater V-neck is knitted from the top down in stockinette stitch using double-stranded Silk Mohair. First, the upper back is knitted, after which stitches are picked up along the back cast-on edge for the shoulder sections. The shoulder sections are knitted separately in short rows to create a wedge. The front and back pieces are joined under the armholes, and the body is knitted in the round on circular needles. Stitches are picked up along the armholes for the sleeves, which are knitted in the round on double-pointed needles or with Magic Loop. Finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline, where a ribbed edge with decorative decreases on the right side at the point of the V-neck and corresponding increases on the wrong side is knitted. This neckline edge is finally folded down and sewn into place on the wrong side. The Stockholm Sweater V-neck is therefore seamless, with the exception of the unfolded neckline edge.

Make a gauge swatch to find the needle size that gives the correct gauge.

Size Guide

The Stockholm Sweater V-neck should have a positive ease of approx. 15 cm relative to your bust measurement (i.e., the sweater should be approx. 15 cm larger than you in circumference). Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement of around 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size suits you best. If you, for example, measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a Size S, which has a width of 105 cm. This gives you a positive ease of 15 cm.

Note that decreases are knitted into the body, and the sweater therefore measures approx. 5 cm smaller at the hips than at the bust. You can omit these decreases if you do not want the sweater to narrow towards the bottom.
