SOCKAN POLE POLE
Pole Pole Socks
Pole Pole means roughly “slowly, slowly” in Swahili and is something you often hear when visiting East Africa. And it is true that we sometimes need to be reminded that we don’t always need to be in such a hurry or constantly on the move. Sometimes it is enough to simply be, here and now.
The pattern for Pole Pole socks is inspired by textiles from Mafia Island off the coast of Tanzania, and I hope that when you knit them, you can do so pole pole and enjoy the process.
Enjoy your knitting time!
