Florence Bag

The Florence Bag is knitted in one piece from the top down. First, a stockinette edge is knitted, and then the bag is knitted in the round in lace pattern. The bottom is knitted in the round in lace pattern with decreases. Finally, a lining is sewn and fitted into the bag, and a leather strap is attached. The matching coin purse is knitted from the top down. It is sewn together with mattress stitches at the bottom. Finally, a lining is fitted inside the coin purse. 

The pattern also contains guidance for sewing the lining.

Knit a gauge swatch to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. Wash and block the gauge swatch before measuring the gauge.

Gauge: 18 stitches x 36 rows in lace pattern on 3.5 mm needles with three-ply yarn = 10 x 10 cm

Fabric for the bag lining: 68 x 18 (81 x 21) cm, leather strap (1.3 x 110 cm), 4 mm zipper: 23 (28) cm, fabric for the coin purse lining: 16 x 22 (19 x 26) cm, 4 mm zipper: 14 (17) cm
