Melange Sweater Junior

Melange Sweater Junior is knitted from the top down. First, the back is knitted back and forth in stockinette stitch, and then stitches are picked up to knit the front piece. The back and front pieces are then joined under the armhole to knit the body in the round on circular needles. Stitches are then picked up to knit the sleeves, and finally, stitches are picked up to knit a double-folded ribbing at the neck. The sweater requires no assembly. Melange Sweater Junior is knitted in two strands of thin wool yarn in contrasting colours to achieve a melange effect.

Size guide

Melange Sweater Junior should have a positive ease of approx. 20 cm relative to the bust measurement. Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 (12-13) 13-14 years correspond to a bust measurement of around 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 (80) 82 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the gauge is maintained). If you/the recipient, for example, measure 62 cm around the chest, you should knit size 6-7 years. A sweater in size 6-7 years has a width of 82 cm and will, in the stated example, give a positive ease of 20 cm. If the measured bust measurement deviates from the age guide, you should be mindful to adjust the length to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/taller than average.
