The Zipper Sweater Light is knitted from the top down in one piece. The neckline is knitted in ribbing, which is folded in half and knitted down. The yoke is knitted with raglan increases, first back and forth on the circular needles to leave room for the zipper, and then around on the circular needles. The body and sleeves are knitted in the round. Finally, a facing for the zipper is knitted from live stitches, so that the zipper looks neat on the back when sewn in. The zipper is finally attached by sewing it between the two layers of knitted fabric – by hand or by machine.

Knit a gauge swatch to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge.

Size guide

The Zipper Sweater Light should have a positive ease of approx. 20 cm relative to your bust measurement. The fit is oversized. If you prefer a less oversized look, you can go down a size. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement, measured around your own body, of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size suits you best. If you, for example, measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A sweater in size S has a width of 113 cm and will, in the above example, give a positive ease of 23 cm.
