Moby Sweater Man is knitted from the top down with textured and cable stitches. First, the back is knitted with short rows to shape the shoulder slope. Then, stitches are picked up at the shoulders and joined at the front to knit the front piece. The front piece and back are then joined under the armhole to continue knitting the body straight down. The sleeves are knitted in the round on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop technique. Finally, a ribbed edge is knitted at the neck, folded in half and knitted down.

Make a gauge swatch to check which needle size to use to achieve the correct gauge – note that this may vary from yarn to yarn. Be aware that you should wash the gauge swatch before measuring, as textured knitting can stretch after washing.

Size guide

Moby Sweater Man should have a positive ease of approx. 10-15 cm relative to your bust measurement. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement, measured around the recipient's body, of 86-91 (91-96) 96-101 (101-107) 107-113 (113-119) 119-124 (124-132) 132-144 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit best. If you, for example, measure 103 cm around the chest (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size L. A sweater in size L has a width of 118 cm and will provide a positive ease of 15 cm in the above example.
