Finally, a book in Swedish about Fair Isle knitting!

Mati Ventrillon's knitting patterns are based on the technique that has been used for centuries on the island of Fair Isle. The book contains 15 knitting patterns as well as tips on techniques, yarns, and finishing. Here you will find larger garments such as a vest, poncho, and several sweaters for both women and men. Among the smaller knitting projects are wrist warmers, hats, fingerless gloves, and scarves. Two-color knitting with Shetland wool yarn creates dense and warm garments that can withstand any weather.

The Fair Isle technique has a long history on the Scottish island. Here, the traditional craft has been passed down through generations. The typical patterns and the special technique make the garments both beautiful and enjoyable to knit. In addition to patterns and knitting instructions, the book is full of inspiring and beautiful photographs from Fair Isle.

MATI VENTRILLON left her work as an architect in London in 2007 and moved to Fair Isle. There she discovered traditional pattern knitting, learned to knit, and today runs her own business Fair Isle Knitwear.
