Men's Melange Sweater

Melange Sweater Man is knitted from the top down. First, the top part of the back is knitted back and forth, and the shoulder slope is shaped using short rows. Increases are worked at the bottom of the back. The shoulder sections are then knitted back and forth on a circular needle individually. They are then joined at the front to form the front piece. The front piece and back are then joined when the body is knitted in the round on a circular needle. The sleeves are knitted out from picked-up stitches along the armhole and knitted in the round on a circular needle or double-pointed needles, or using the Magic Loop technique. The ribbing at the neck is knitted out from picked-up stitches in the neck opening, folded in half, and knitted down. 

Melange Sweater is knitted with two strands of thin wool yarn in contrasting colours to achieve a melange effect. Knit a gauge swatch to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. 

Size guide

Melange Sweater Man should have a positive ease of approx. 10–15 cm relative to your bust measurement. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement, measured around the body, of 86–91 (91–96) 96–101 (101–107) 107–113 (113–119) 119–124 (124–132) 132–144 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will suit you best. If you, for example, measure 103 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit size L. A sweater in size L has a width of 118 cm and will give a positive ease of 15 cm in the above example.

Needle suggestions: 4 mm circular needle (40, 80 and/or 100 cm), 3.5 mm circular needle (40 cm), 3.5 and 4 mm double-pointed needles (if not knitting with the Magic Loop technique)

Materials: 550 (600) 600 (650) 700 (750) 800 (850) 900 g Thin Peer Gynt from Sandnes Garn (50 g = 205 m). Note that it is knitted with two strands at the same time and that the yarn requirements state the total yarn usage.
