The Lucy Wrap is knitted from the top down in stockinette stitch. First, the back is knitted, shaped with short rows. Then, stitches are picked up for the shoulder areas and the yoke is knitted back and forth with increases for the sleeves and the diagonal front edges. The body is also knitted back and forth with increases for the diagonal front edges. The sleeves are knitted in the round in stockinette stitch. Finally, a garter stitch tie is knitted, joined with stitches picked up along the front edges of the wrap.
Make a gauge swatch to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. Wash the gauge swatch, as the recommended yarn may stretch during washing and wear.
Size Guide
The Lucy Wrap should have negative ease of approximately -7 cm. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to a bust measurement of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100 110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm (measured around the body). The measurements of the finished cardigan are given on the front of the pattern. Note: These measurements only apply if the gauge is maintained. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. If you, for example, measure 89 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit size S. A cardigan in size S has a half-width of 41 cm (corresponding to a width of 82 cm) and will, in the stated example, provide negative ease of 7 cm. A measurement chart is available here.
