Christmas stocking

The Christmas stocking is knitted from the cuff down to the toe. The sock is knitted in stockinette stitch and the heel is shaped with short rows. The sock is finally felted before it is attached to a leather loop.

Measurements before felting: Width: 22 cm

Cuff length: 40 cm

Foot length: 30 cm

Measurements after felting: Width: 17 cm

Cuff length: 34 cm

Foot length: 26 cm

Gauge: 15 sts x 21 rows in stockinette stitch on 5.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm 

Needles: 5.5 mm circular needles (40 cm), 5.5 mm sock needles (or 80 cm circular needles if you knit with the Magic Loop technique)

Materials: 200 g Fritidsgarn from Sandnes Garn (50 g = 70 m), leather strap: 45 cm, 2 screw nuts
