Eva Cardigan Junior

Eva Cardigan Junior is knitted from the top down. First, the top part of the back is knitted with increases, after which the shoulders are knitted from stitches picked up along the top of the back piece. Stitches are then picked up along the shoulders, and the rest of the yoke is knitted in the round, while increases are worked at the front to create a V-neckline. The body is knitted back and forth in the round, and the sleeves are knitted in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up along the front edges to knit a wide button placket in double ribbing.

Size guide

Eva Cardigan Junior should have a positive ease of approx. 18 cm relative to the bust measurement. Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 (12-13) 13-14 years correspond to a bust measurement of around 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 (80) 82 cm. The measurements of the finished cardigan are given on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the gauge is maintained). If you/the recipient, for example, measure 57 cm around the chest, you should knit size 4-5 years. A cardigan in size 4-5 years has a width of 79 cm and will, in the above example, provide a positive ease of 22 cm. If the measured bust measurement deviates from the age guide, you should be mindful to adjust the length to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/taller than average.
