Esther Jacket is knitted from the top down in textured stitch. First, the top part of the back is knitted with increases. Then, the shoulder sections are knitted from the stitches picked up at the top of the back piece. The body is knitted back and forth. The sleeves are knitted in the round on circular needles from the stitches picked up in the armhole. Finally, button bands and a ribbed edge at the neck are knitted.

Make a gauge swatch to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. You can make a gauge swatch following the diagrams in the knitting pattern.

Size guide

Esther Jacket should have a positive ease of approx. 24 cm in the smallest sizes, but gradually less in the larger sizes. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to a bust measurement of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The measurements of the finished cardigan are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. If you, for example, measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of the body), you should knit size S. A cardigan in size S has a width of 114 cm and will give a positive ease of 24 cm in the above example.
