Bea Top
Couldn't load pickup availability
The Bea Top is knitted from the bottom up. The body is knitted in the round in stockinette stitch, and the work is then divided into a front piece and a back, which are knitted separately, back and forth in stockinette stitch with decreases on each side. The top is shaped with short rows at the top of the armholes to create a boat neck.
Make a gauge swatch to check your tension. Wash the gauge swatch before measuring, as the recommended yarn may stretch when washed. Also note that the top will stretch by a couple of centimetres during wear after washing and blocking in the recommended yarn – take this into account when choosing a size.
Size guide
The Bea Top should have negative ease of approx. -8 cm relative to your bust measurement. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to a bust measurement of 75-80 (80 85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm, measured directly on the body. The measurements of the finished top are given on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the gauge is followed). Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. If you, for example, measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A top in size S has a width of 82 cm and will give the stated negative ease of -8 cm in the above example. A measurement chart is available here.
