Marius men's sweater
The Marius men's sweater in Thin Peer Gynt can be knitted both top-down and bottom-up. A classic model with a chart-based pattern and a solid fit.
First, the back piece is knitted back and forth with the chart-based pattern, down to the underarms. The stitches are then picked up along the shoulder edge of the back piece up to the shoulders on each side. Each side of the front piece is knitted back and forth with the chart-based pattern, and new stitches are cast on for the neckline before the pieces are knitted together. The front piece is knitted with the pattern to the same length as the back piece. The work is gathered under the arms and the front and back pieces are knitted in the round in stockinette stitch and finished with ribbing. The sleeves are knitted in the round from the top down with the chart-based pattern at the top of the sleeves.
